Trivia:

The character of Bala (Akshay Kumar) was partially inspired by Aladeen from The Dictator (2012), played by Sasha Baron Cohen. This is evident by the low-key gesture of his finger and throat to behead someone as an evil prince, but later finding out much to his dismay that all those he ordered to be killed, escaped; just like Aladeen in The Dictator.
